This Is Your Life-prompt credz to DailyPost

If I could read a book containing everything that has happened and will happen in my life, would I?

I would definitely want to. I want to know what will happen ahead of time so I will know what to expect in the future and plan how I will react to it before it happens. If something amazing happens, like a book I have written making the New York Times Best-Selling List, I need to prepare myself to remain humble and down-to-earth, despite my having achieved my lifelong dream. If something terrible happens, I need to prepare to bounce back from it and move on with my life.

Wait a second. No.

No one gets to determine my life but myself. Okay, so maybe the Powers That Be of the Universe may have some elaborate plan for my life, and that’s okay. But if there’s one thing I want my readers to learn from me, it’s that you are the author, editor, and publisher of your own success story. So what if it doesn’t become a best-seller? Only you can create the life of your dreams and live it. I will chase my dreams to the ends of the earth if I have to, and if they don’t scare me, they’re not big enough.

So my message to you, my lovely readers? Be the author of your own success story. Realize your dreams and make them come true. And if anyone says they can’t come true? Tell that person to go set a watchman.

  2. I know this is a really long time after you posted this… but I was thinking about your post a few days ago and what you said. It’s a good question and I really like how you answered it- we write our own life stories and can’t give anyone else the pen! Really inspiring post! 🙂 🙂
